Hi all,
I joined this forum as I got wound up in yet another custom project, this time starting with a CB 650 Z. I have found joining a Honda Shadow forum quite helpful in the past as customizing my 97 ACE was a pain in the b*tt aswel. So I figured the time's here to get acquainted with all of you as I embark on yet another insane build.
I have been thinking of building a Cafe Racer for the misses for a while now, and spending about a year in thinking out a plan-browsing google pics by the thousands I finally found what would by my ultimate goal. I would not want to go down the standard route and end up with a 13 in a dozen See-em-everywhere Cafe Racer.. I wanted to make something truly physically grabbing one by the eyeballs. Somewhere down the road I ran into Paul Smarts take on a CB650.. A jaw dropping creation, no amount of words can do it right. ..at least when you're me
At this moment the donor is in the final stages of being dismantled, I hope to finish her anywhere within 1-2 years. Who knows.. I have to take things slow.. Having three kids does that..
I'll be starting some topics along the way as I encounter stuff that needs your input, caring advise, critical eye, or just plain sense if I seem to have lost it
Have a look at this beauty.. Thanks Paul Smart for providing this amazing example of bike art:
From the website:" The Honda CB650 engine was totally revamped for performance from shaving of the crank to big bore and forged piston, Keihin Carbs, Honda CBR929 front suspension and brakes. Rear suspension from VFR and VFR750 swing arm for single side Ducati appeal"
