836 side cover badges?
« on: March 05, 2017, 03:00:00 AM »
Does anyone know who makes these? I was told it was Cycle X, but I couldn't find them on their website. Wouldn't mind a set if they're reasonably priced.

No no..keep em guessing...

If I went to 836, I sure wouldn't want to advertise it for my insurance company. It's really hard to get old bikes insured in Ontario as it is.

Do they do a physical inspection ?

Not necessarily when you get coverage, but I'm sure they'd notice it in an accident

The pic doesn't show up on my phone but here is the page.

EDIT: That's an old page. Looks like they might not be available. Best to call them to find out.

I wouldn't advertise the sizing of the engine, much rather nobody know what had been done to the inside of the engine and keep it a sleeper 8)

That being said, I might be tempted to put 836 on the side if I had a 970 or 1000 cc...

Was it Greenjeans who used to make the 836 in the K0 style? I had a set of those here for a long time.

It might be an insurance issue... I'm thinking about my mods and if bike will be stolen..how should I explainall my mods with more than 10mm wider pistons and other goodies? My registration say 736 cm3, 49kW.

Edit: It is possible to change the registration, come clean and specify the real status. Then change the insurance that will get another price tag
I think it was CycleX that had 836, 900 and 1000cc badges

I was late to that party but I think it was. And I'd buy a set. I remember everyone wanted custom ones, maybe a 3d printer is in order.

I like that... is it a decal? Do you recall where you got it?

I have a set of custom made cb 836 decals that look similar. I never used them and would be willing to part with if you can't find the badges.

Not a decal...which is the cheapest thing you can get…
Quite the opposite, gold leaf is probably the most expensive form of lettering there is.. And yes its REAL thin GOLD !.. You can also get silver leaf and maybe copper..
