Never had the honor of seeing him ride, but he always looked to me such a perfect, gifted and speedy gentleman.

Didn't see him in his heyday but saw him on bikes and in cars at 2 Superprix meetings in later years and he was awesomely fast even then. Riding a priceless works MV he was pushing so hard he got it completely sideways at Surtees bend at Brands Hatch (appropriate) he controlled it but had to do a bit of grasstracking. A true superstar - RIP
I'm only old on the outside.

Not only on bikes guys, F1 world champ as well, the only person to do it on 2 wheels and 4.
Thousands of people have been campaigning for the Queen to Knight him, making him Sir John for many years, It's a bit late now but it can be done posthumously.
