tank on my bike doesn't have the honda lettering badge. i assume the POs probably removed them and filled the bracket area with bondo. looking for suggestions on getting back to the brackets? should i have the thing glass blasted? other media? sand to a point and blast after? eventually painting the tank.

Good paint stripper will probably take it out if you go that route. Some guys burn it out. Lotsa different ways.

Carefully sand it down to expose what the filler is and go from there. Most likely it's bondo. Use a heat gun (make sure inside of tank is dry and aired out!) and heat and pick, heat and pick. Nothing I know of will dissolve it after it cures.

Chemical stripper for the paint. Then glass bead blast the filler out wherever you find it.

Go buy some Marvel Mystery Oil and pour some of that in there and slosh it around. You can put that stuff anywhere and it'll be good.
