2 pipe companies, Hydro Conduit they made concrete pipes and Corona Clay they made clay pipe.

I'm afraid I don't have any pics to put up, so throw up another. BTW that road is still very popular for the weekend road rahsers. I still take it to work if I have jobs in South Laguna Beach or Dana Point. It is a very nice cruise even in my pick-up.

Not too bad for a W.A.G. huh?

W.A.G.. I think not, dont you live like 20 miles away ?
I thnk the pipe company (bike exhaust) was Fubar  back in the eighties, and it looks like Jardine is there as well.

I was going to guess Lake Elsinore! One of the few places I've been. With a street sweeper and a hot glue gun you could nearly build a Hayabusa up there.

There are a lot of go fast companies in Corona. The Monster team is there and a big name Mustang guy, the name escapes me right now....part timers ya know!!!!

Heck the guy that used to do my smog checks was Mike Patrick (think Baja and Yamaha), and Maley (the skid shoe guy) lived there until he died about 6 or 7 years ago.

That's awesome.  I grew up not too far away.  Ortega Highway is still a very popular place to ride motorcycles, although it can be a little hairy sometimes with squids.

Ortega Hwy is a long way from Canada Frank, a little vacation time? Did you ride the Orange county side, that's the best. If you rode back through Corona you went right past my house.........and you didn't even stop to say hi, WTF???

I was working falling trees for the Revelstoke Dam clearing project til early December1981.
Had some cash, put my blue chopper inside my 62 BelAir sport coupe, and left 27th December for California. Knew some people in Hermosa Beach, took the bike out and rode nearly everyday.
Stayed til first week of Feb... Before heading back home.
Had met a guy from Costa Mesa, in Sturgis. Went to a New Years party rode back across town at about 4 am in the rain.
So  one day he says, lets ride the Ortega Hwy.. From Orange County...nice ride..
Was a beautiful day, on Ortega we saw a couple strange trikes. Tri Hawks I think they were, really stuck to the corners.... Fun times..
Best winter of my life.......... I think this one was the worst..lol...

A beautiful highway. Been to the lookout a few times when on vacation. Got passed by
a guy on an Aprillia (I think) going back down to San Clemente. Quite the experience
seeing someone who could really ride take those turns at speed. He came out of nowhere,
blasted past me and a forrestry truck, charged a sharp lefthander and disappeared. His brake light never came on. Scarily awesome. I'll never forget it. :) Sorry for the hijack

Guess the iconic location of the right hand pic.
This was fun!  I went to Google Earth and found (based on your description of the possible location) where the pic of you sitting on the rock at the look out was taken!  The rock just to your left is still there, and it still looks like a great vista.  I'd love to ride there some day.
I'll post a screen shot of the side-by-side pic and Google Earth view when I can figure out how.

The rock where Frank is sitting is to the left of the picture of the bar you posted, maybe 50 to 100 yards.

It is a great view, I took my kids up there (in the car) to watch the sun rise on new years day a couple of times. To the right of where frank is and way down by the end of the lake is a sky dive place, one of my former boy scouts flies the drop plane. Very popular for hang gliders and glider planes. Too bad the lake is so filthy and a lot of the tweekers in Elsinore. It is still a nice ride.

@ Frank, the exhaust company in Corona is Gibson. I don't think they make bike pipes though. And the Mustang go fast place I mentioned earlier is Saleen.

@ Don, absolutely right about building something from "spare" parts up there........a lot of wrecks!

That's Mount Athabasca taken from the Columbia Icefields parking lot on the Icefields Parkway in Alberta.

Second photo is dark, but I'm guessing Jasper Alberta.

Ok Frank,

I found a picture of a pretty famous Canadian Highway and Pass that you may have taken your bike over at some point. You can see it in the centre distance.
