Front wheel drag when turning to left
« on: March 15, 2017, 05:07:23 PM »
Hey Guys,

Got an Amen Savior built from a '77 matic. Built it from a bare frame and trying to get a maiden voyage going. Seems I have something creating a drag when turning to the left. The only two things I can think of are the brake or the bearings. Any other possibilities you can think of? Wheels easy straight ahead or turning right, but will make you fell like an old man when pushing it into a left turn.

Thanks, Steve

Did that today. Seems the caliper is holding residual pressure. I'm going to try cleaning the ports in the master cylinder tomorrow. I rebuilt the master a few years ago. It was in really poor condition. If I can't get it to clear, I'm going to buy a new aftermarket replacement. Think I've got it figured out. Thanks for the help. I'll give you an update after I change the master.

Yep, it was the master cylinder. I updated to a later model with the site glass on the side. The old original was just rotted too far. It was questionable as to whether the rebuild would hold up.
