He was the best. RIP
Dedicated to Sgt. Howard Bruckner 1950 - 1969. KIA LONG KHANH.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Johnny B Goode was the first song my pal taught me for our garage band... in 1965.

Memory. Back in mid 70's my buddy Johnnie and I were heading to a weekend festival somewhere in surburban St Louis, Ill. We were crossing a bridge and heard on the radio that the city denied the festival. A moment later it was announced that Chuck Berry had invited the festival to use his 'farm' (park) in Wentzville, MO. It was an amazing weekend.  ;D ;)

In the 70's I took my wife to be to a Chuck Berry show. We got our seats and waited. The promoter had a check, he wanted cash, he refused to play until paid, it was Saturday evening and the promoters ran all over town borrowing the 1 $2K. ( a lot of money in 72) The backup band finally came out, they were good and after an eternity Chuck got his cash and came out, played 3 or 4 songs, not really synched with the band and left to a quiet house and a few boo's. Knox College 1972.
I respect him for being a pioneer and love the music, just not so much that night and for a while after.

Roll Over Beethoven, Chucks gonna rock your world! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

A life not without controversy (armed robbery convictions in high school and statutory rape of a 14 year old later), but a long one at 90 and a huge pioneer for Rock 'n Roll music.
