That is sad, I hadn't heard.  I was a bartender when the Gong Show was popular, people would come in to watch that and Family Feud with Richard Dawson.  They were two of the best back to back comedies ever put together.  Barris was brilliant...Larry

I watched the Gong Show as a kid and laughed my butt off! It was the funniest thing I had see at the time..
