CB750 K3 reg/rec wiring question
« on: March 22, 2017, 03:37:11 AM »
Howdy folks,

I have a RR with 5 wires (red, green and 3 x yellow)....I'd like to use it in my CB750, but don't know if it is possible? Does someone have a wiring pic handy to help me out, if it is indeed possible to use it? The main question is the white wire coming from the alternator box...where to hook that up? The RR is a rgu-112. Thanks in advance for any insights! I'm making a minimal wiring harness for a kick only bike.

More than likely the Red (or red w/white stripe) would replace the solid white from your stock harness. That is not to say this unit is compatible with your bike.

Here's a stock diagram:

And a simplified harness diagram:

From the wiring description, that may only be a rectifier, not a combination regulator/rectifier. If it is indeed a combination reg/rec, it would have to be a shunt regulator, which, while can be used with wiring changes to the field circuit, would not be advisable.
