Topic: CB450K0 Black Bomber Alternator/Generator Stator ..Will later years fit?

Hi ...does anyone know if the alternator stator from a 1968 onwards (CB450K1 to K7) bike will mechanically fit a 1967  CB450K0 'Black Bomber' model please? I can sort out any electrical issues  but will the stator fit physically. The Bomber model seems to have cloth covered coils while the later ones have epoxy resin impregnated coils like the CB350K model.

Surprisingly few replies on HondaTwins.net, where I am also a  regular member. I was beginning to think that it had turned into a self-help group   .  I got a much  better response on the Facebook CB450 Bomber site. Still nothing definitive though.

Well damn. My best guess would be that it would fit fine. Outside of the transmission, there is much physically different from the early to later bikes. You could just get one and give it a shot. If you haven't done so already, shoot GAMD5 over there a PM. He might know for sure.

I did try to join that 305 forum a while back but I never got the joining confirmation email back from them to enable me to sign in and post questions. I also asked the question on HondaTwins.net and I do know GAMD5 personally  but surprisingly few replies from there. I just got a 1970 5-Speed motor alternator stator off eBay UK very cheap and I am going to try it in the Bomber generator housing to see if it physically fits and take it from there.
