What's going on folks? I'm a little tardy coming at you here on the forum and to this infatuation you call a hobby/life. But I've been researching for awhile now.
A friend recently described my new "love" as if I were "...a rookie skydiver giving myself to jumping out of a plane with outstretched hands while slowly twisting to glance back at the occupants with a face that's totally serene and with a smile as if to say 'It's on now and I'm loving it already!' on my face.
I've been wanting to get back on a bike for a few years now but with a kid on the way it wasn't the right time. That bundle of joy is finishing first grade now and through some luck I got a 78 Honda CB750K for free. I'm now well aware that "free" bikes are more expensive but I also get to notch another bucket item off the list...rebuild a combustion motor.
Then I procured a 76 CB550F. Also really cheap but has compression. Unlike the 750K, the bottom end of the engine will not (fingers crossed) be rebuilt. I haven't checked oil pressure yet but that's the plan so far. I bought this because it was cheap, almost complete (no headlight, fenders or calipers) with the intention of getting it running and back in the groove of riding in traffic.
Anyway here I am with a couple of projects and a thirst for some knowledge and criticism.
I'm having some problems posting pictures on the gallery of both bikes (currently one is a build and the other is for a quick "get-it-running" sometime in May) but when I can I will post pictures.
Thanks to all!
