CrisPduk,  What do you mean- bin the fender?  Trash it?
Well, I thought about that.  If it was my bike that is exactly where it would have went.  But the customer even wanted the chain gaurd!  Luckily I had already hacked it off when he asked me to leave it on, so at least that's gone!  He also wanted to leave the stock airbox, which I would have promptly thrown away for some pods.  But, I guess I can't complain about his ideas.  His ideas mixed with mine worked out pretty good.

JP

I didn't mean trash it, rather remove it from the bike :)

But as I said it's personal taste, I like my bikes without. If the guy who's footing the bill want's it fitted that's his personal choice, who am I to argue  ;D

Scunny, don't worry- I have a pic for you, I just have'nt posted it yet.  Don't expect it for another week- I stay pretty busy when I'm home, and I don't have the pics on my work computer.  The widest part of the seat is at the rear, and yes, it is wider than the narrowest part of the tank.  If looking from an arial view, the tank and seat form a sort of top heavy hour glass.  The front of the tank being the top heavy part.  If you are wanting to use one of these seats, expect a lot of modification to get it to work.  I split the seat pan down the middle and then Y'd it off toward the back so that I could effectively split the pan wide enough to get it over the big 750 frame.  I then clamped it in place and began the hidious process of laying in the fiberglass.

Heffay,

Thanks very, very, much for the complement.  That was HUGE!  The bike in your avatar is pretty stiff competition though.  I also think DME's bike is one of the best I've ever seen.  But I should have MY  750SS done in a few months, and then we'll see about the best looking bike I've ever seeen ;).  Plainly, if it isn't my personal favorite- I'll keep working until it is.
