Topic: Moving the petcock

I have to move the petcock on my CB750 tank to better fit on my CB650. It will have to move back about 2". What do I need to get as far as a new petcock? I do not need stock and will need a new fitting to be welded into the new location that the petcock will screw into.

Alot of chopper websites sell petcock bungs and petcocks.  Just weld it on and patch the old spot

550 tank's petcock not clearing the carbs for my 650 swap. My tank has a bung that I cut off and welded 4.5" farther back. I reused my stock petcock but I was entertaining the idea of going either Pingel or Golan. Both of which use a 22mm bung. If you want a 22mm weldable steel bung let me know.

Biggest issue, not hurting yourself. Once you wash out the tank as many times as you think necessary, there will still be explosive fumes. Sounds crazy, but I wash, wash, wash, then protect myself, say around a corner from the tank . . .  and drop a flame inside to burn off the last bit. Might want to see how others have done it.
