Something a bit different for a tail section.
« on: March 31, 2017, 12:57:47 PM »
Sometimes, like any good project I start with a plan, and it slowly evolves into something completely different. A while back I was experimenting with a stave snare drum project and I realized that with some glue, dowels and a lot of sanding anything was possible. Long story short, my "cafe" seat didn't fit the way I had hoped. So here is my wooden bastard battery cover. There will eventually be a light assembly above the mounting platform as soon as I figure out how to mold translucent plastic.

The whole plan for this bike was to be minimal and inexpensive. Then I started to think a functional barn find look would be cool. 90% of this bike, including the wood is from scrap or spare parts.

I agree Frank. I don't know what those would be though.

Google southwest Indian cochinka medallions.  The kind a cowboy would have had on his pistol belt or saddle straps
intrigued by the wail...seduced by the scream.

Hammered copper tank or "galvanized bucket" looking. Saddle leather seat, wrought iron handlebars and stirrups for pegs.

Leather rifle quiver mounted to front fork might be a nice touch.... ;D. Seriously, that is very creative work.
