Topic: Help ID a strange little car

I saw this when I was coming back over the Bay Bridge into San Francisco. The guy driving the car I was in is a huge car guy and couldn't figure out what this car was either. Can anyone help ID it?

FYI, the wheels looked like they were less than 15", and possibly less than 13", in diameter.

Yup, probably one of the recent imports.

They were sold in 1991 in the USA, but only 20 were sold.

I started working for a Nissan dealer as a mechanic in 1979 and stayed there 25 years. I never seen nor heard of one of those cars. Looks a lot older of a model than a 1991.

It was a retro thing for them.
Not really a Kie car though.

yes they are supposed to look old , even the cd player looks like an old radio . my mrs had one for a couple of years and loved it

Nissan doesn't list them on their heritage site, and I couldn't find much mention of them anywhere other than specific pages about the Figaro. It certainly has aged well though, and I'd love to drive one. Those little wheels must be miserable on rough roads though.
