1975-1976F Muffler Replacement options that look stock?
« on: April 03, 2017, 12:08:18 PM »
Hi all,

My 1975 CB750F muffler is toast and needs to be replaced. The problem is that I'm not a fan of the styling of almost every aftermarket 4-1 muffler that I've seen.

This to me actually "looks" right, but I think this may be NLA:

I know that bolting up a 77-78F muffler to a 75-76F exhaust/collectors does not work.

It's very painful looking for a good condition 75-76F muffler, so that's not really a safe bet to take.

Are there any options out there that looks mostly stock?

I doubt you will find a stock looker. I got a chrome Mac can for mine initially. Doesn't look stock but it was the best available option that year. I eventually bit the bullet and got a Kerker. I hear they are too expensive these days. My latest acquisition was Delkevic without the can. Best bang for the buck! I found out a Kerker can fits it nicely.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
