Appreciate the color responses. Once I get the tank painted, then we'll know  :)

I got the tank in primer today. First some epoxy, then polyester primer. Since there is a fair amount of bodywork, the polyester is used. Once it is blocked, I will follow with more epoxy and final wet sanding for paint.

Thank you guys . .the tank has been blocked. It now has the last application of epoxy and will be wet sanded and painted next. I'll give the epoxy a few days to really cure well.

The epoxy primer was block sanded.

Next the silver base was sprayed.

Next 6 coats of my candy green were sprayed.

Then 2 coats of a quick clear were sprayed. It doesn't look much different than the last pic because the candy isn't a flat hue. But in two hours I will be sanding this tank and applying the stripe. Then a couple more coats of clear.

Looking good.  Painted stripes beat the hell out of burying the vinyl under clear.

Pic might not look much different than the last, BUT a lot has happened. I had planned on clearing the tank again, including the decal. But when I looked at it today, there were so many small bubbles, 3 or 4 times as many as when I left it yesterday , I decided to paint the stripe. So out came my tape and what you see is now finally finished.
