4.25"L x 2.25"D x 3.75"H

The mockup was a little taller than the actual battery. Maybe they are taking the terminal screws in to account too. No, I didn't compensate for any padding. Didn't use any. The battery fit perfectly into my box and I used a Velcro strap to hold it in place.

You'll want to install a new reg/rectifier.

HEHEHE. Ya, I kind of planned on it. Funny thing is, after all the BS I went through on my last bike, I now am practically an old pro on charging systems. What are the odds that two consecutive brand new R/Rs were bad? I couldn't plug that into the formula when diagnosing the issues. The first one came with bike, one of those Chinese ones from Ebay. Second one was a Ricks that a local guy had purchased a bulk order. Both ended up being bad, got a 3rd Ricks from same guy...all good. But that was after having every piece of the puzzle out on the table. I learned a lot, and actually am not intimidated by charging systems anymore. Thanks to that nightmare episode.

A few more pieces to puzzle showed up today. Gold wing front end and F oil tank. Having been getting ride time in with the 750, it is clear to me that my elbows and back do not like the clip ons.

Those wide pulled back bars (combined with the pulled-back risers) should provide a fairly comfortable reach.

Hahahahaha. Old timing guy.....

Mocked up profile with new tear concept that will let me get all electrical up top and lines will flow nicely in to comfy seat. There. I said it. Comfy seat. If I am real careful. I can pull this off and not have to paint the tail.

Thank you to my old Victory supplying the old fender.

The tank has been getting rig welded by my daughter at her school. She is a pretty good welder and it's great to have her involved in my cycling hobby. And she doesn't drink my beer.

Take a look at superbike bars, even if you run them upside down..them flat dragbars. Just dont do anything looks wise ...except if you weld bent risers on.
Another with huge style points ( may or may not work) is a Norman Hyde M bar.

I like the super bike bars. The others do not do anything for me other than want to put my chiropractor on quick dial.

Hmm the more I look at that tail, the more it's growing on me. The lines actually flow pretty damn good with the tank.

I am integrating custom side panels into the tail section so it all comes off at same time. Tank extension will be welded into top of seat pan. I am considering making quick release pins for the tail so it comes off quickly.

Dude.. what model victory did you pull that off of, I'm building a 750f myself and was planning to run a kz1000 tail like this ... but I like that more

NOOOOO! Hey, we had a good thing going with the Kawi tails!!
He doesn't have one so he's going to try and copy ours out of a Victory fender.

I wish I could say I gave it that much consideration. I had a few different fender profiles and I just chose one that was different than the last bike.

But the Kawi tails are very cool. Would be pretty easy to build that section out of steel or aluminum. I liked the sexy gradual curves of this tail section. More like a Harley Softail bobbed fender.

One thing to consider is the girth of those side covers. You may have to get crafty with the foot peg placement so it doesnt feel like youre riding a horse. Maybe extend the pegs out a bit to compensate.

Hey Joe. Thanks for the heads up. The covers are not much wider than stock ones.

I had a chance to pick up a nice 78 SS motor. Grabbed it and a set of carbs for a couple hundred. Making progress on metal fab work.

Palepainter, some nice metal work...very cool stuff.
You need to go plug those intake and exhaust ports proto! A rubber glove taped on works pretty well. You don't want any bondo dust or dirt in general in your intake or exhaust tract...but, this you already know.

This one is definitely a different direction from your previous 750 build. Much more creative license.

Thank for the heads up David. I am not too worried about this one as it will be coming apart. I am stepping out a bit further with the styling on this one. More of my own taste in it and bringing some of my chopper tastes into it as well.
