hidden stash of motorcycles
« on: November 22, 2006, 08:44:11 PM »
I dropped my van off at my local mechanic yesterday. and as he was giving me ride back to my house I mentioned my project bike. The mechanic's eyes lit up and he started getting chatty about bikes. It turns out that he was a rider back in the day, and in fact he still has a number of his old bikes.

Today I got him to open up more. He is unsure of the exact years of the bikes, but he has a mid-70s CB350/4 and a CL350 twin as well! According to him, the CL has less than 4,000 miles on it and the CB has around 20K. Both are in very good shape. He also has a mid-70s Kawasaki 175 and a 70's 350 triple.

On top of that he has THREE Mustang motorcycles (I wasn't familiar with this make until I googled the name when I got home with the van). They were very cool one lunger thumpers, made to look like small Harleys.

On the way out of the shop I told him that if he ever wanted to let go of one or both of the Honda 350s, please give me a call. He said that of all the bikes, those would be the ones he'd consider letting go.

Now all I have to do is wait patiently by the telephone!  :D

wouldnt you rather be greghasakickasscb350 than gregwaits... then stop waiting and go over there with some cash.  decide how much you want to pay for it and then ask him just how likely he is to sell his hondas.  i cant see you not leaving with a bike.  i knoe itd texas but its still almost winter, sieze the honda man.

Hi Greg:

If you hear something from the guy and decide to pass on the CL350, do let me know. I'm interested in another.
