cl100 exhaust on cb125
« on: April 11, 2017, 09:38:28 AM »
Can anyone confirm whether or not the cl100 scrambler pipe will fit the cb125?

Pretty sure the cl125 and cb125 are the same. A little confused because I've read that a cb125 header won't fit the cl100... slightly too big. But i've also seen people use cl125 headers on the cl100.

I would assume they are interchangeable.

Me too, I just want to be sure before I blow any more money by assuming anything about 40 year old motorcycles.

The CL100 exhaust will fit but won't flow as much as the CB125S oem pipe,it'll be choking back a little;it might not achieve a full 65-70mph flat-out top speed.. otherwise it will fit.

What about the more elusive CL125 pipe, also more restrictive? Is there another single or option i'm forgetting?

What would be more restrictive about the CL pipe?

What would be more restrictive about the CL pipe?

I'm wondering the same thing, is it inherent to the scrambler design, or is the pipe slightly more narrow?

Check the part number for the exhaust gaskets.
I bet they are the same CB vs CL and 100 vs 125

Do you prefer style, cost, easy to find, the performance? or the look of the high CL pipe ? I have an 81' CB125S w/ an XR200 engine in it and I'm using the front head-pipe from a 1978' CB125S(J model)and it's a good low pipe.

Style mostly, also having a niggle with the kick starter clearing the aftermarket muffler. Decided to just go high pipe and use it on dirt roads.

These vintage oem exhausts are getting very hard to find & if you can find a decent or repairable one for a CL100 it should be good.
