I need help planning a trip
« on: April 15, 2017, 04:57:17 PM »
I don't generally take vacations.  Just part of being an engineer I guess, but I promised myself one in July - 2 weeks.

I was dead set on booking a room in North Yellowstone for 4 days, but having thought it out I'm not sure what I'd be doing.  It's just me and the bike.  4 days is a long time to ride around Yellowstone - too long.  It would only take me a day or two to see Yellowstone in any capacity.

I thought about the idea of heading up to Glacier as well, maybe 2 days in Yellowstone, 2 days in Glacier.  But that would dead-end me with nowhere to go the remaining week.

Am I being too mission oriented about this?  I have no problem just riding around the country but the idea of going somewhere just to "see it" doesn't appeal to me.  I don't do "bucket lists".

I've been thinking about this some more, bounced it off a person or two.

I think the idea would be a Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier, then Banff.

That would be a nice all around trip - 2 days in each location or thereabouts.

Never been that far into Canada, but it sounds like a fun ride.
