Isle of Mann medic team

Rapid Response Motorcycle Racing Medics!!!  COOL!

This was a pretty gruesome lecture on the dangers of racing the isle of mann.
But I absolutely loved the man's sense of humor!

He describes racing down the road at 180mph.  Strapped to the hilt with bags of emergency medical supplies.  Coming onto scenes where everything went well, according to murphy's law.

Some of the images were cringe-material.  But the narrative had me chuckling!  Fully recommend watching all the way through.  It's educational!

there are quite a few different irish road races , they all have deceivingly stony shrubbery .

yes cal. one good thing has come from it though while he was alive he campaigned for an air ambulance service in northern ireland .
his death highlighted the campaign and last year it finally became a reality , many lives will be saved .

I was not familiar with him, but what a GREAT speaker. Very knowledgeable with a sense of humor like myself ;).  I really enjoyed the video, thank you for posting. As a firefighter/paramedic who has also worked races in the past, I could only wish I had a team of people like that! I do not work races anymore, but I would like to propose to my Department we ditch our rescue units/ambulances for those rapid response bikes!

Doctor Hinds is very much missed in Ireland north and south, and by the multitude of road racers who knew that he was never far away with his excellent skills should they have an incident that would require them. RIP .

Irish road racing is something quite special and one that is now attracting more and more riders from the UK and the continent, racers who crave the purity of racing on public roads. Yes there are great risks as most recently demonstrated by the loss of an Italian rider, Dario Cecconi at Tandragee last week. Dario was experienced, had raced at Tandragee many times and even referred to the circuit as "home". It's sad to learn of his passing, but it's clear he was doing what he loved. What is also clear is that dedicated professional people like Dr Hinds are helping to mitigate the risks, and personally I am in awe of what they do.
