Or stock K shocks with the top chrome cover removed and the spring painted black. If you are doing a perfect resto the stock K1 shock is a little different then the K2 and later.

F shockers, lowering kit, custom chain guard, 16? inch wheel, exhaust bracket welded to frame, so lots of non-original stuff. Sweet! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I removed my K1 OE shocks a couple years back and replaced with Hagons, chrome body, chrome spring, polished cover is a bit shorter than the OE cover.  You might be able to swap the covers, I don't know if any custom work is required to do so. The black piece is some kind of plastic spring guide to keep the spring off the body. That might swap out as well, but I am not a slave to detail.
Tha Hagons are good, probably sprung a bit stiff. The OE shocks are shot.
2012 purchase from Dave Quinn $351
Sorry about the sideways picture.

As seen in Kevin's picture the k1 stock shock has a black inner body and black top mount only used the first couple of years.

Good call Terry, all the comments you mention are on the to do list. Just starting out on this project and my goal is to bring it back to stock. Not a perfect restoration but a good rider the resembles the on I had 42 years ago.

Good job mate, I'm in the process of doing something similar with my 1969 K0, but I'm guessing yours will be an easier task! ;D

Ha ha, I've started a build thread mate, it's not gonna be a concours resto, more like "Barn Fresh" as I'll be using lots of good original used parts rather than kill it with new chrome and paint. It'll even have some period mods............ ;D

Ir can be done rather easy by order new parts. But that cost a lot. Finding fresh parts of correct years  for low $$ must be the hardest....
