Any body have a clue?  Just wondering about rarity.  If that word is even applicable.

1,500 people are on DSS selling parts to list for 400/4’s in the UK, (source Dave Silver) the bike was more popular over here! Contact them and they’ll give you the number of bikes they sell parts to people in the US ,and will give a rough idea how many are active and or are being restored by DSS CMSNL and so on, but looking at some of the prices you see people in the US pay for NOS parts on ebay it makes me wonder do they do any research! :o

Stormer, how many other 400/4’s have you seen in Brazil? Who do you get your parts from? If it’s DSS ask how many people he supplies parts to and it will give you a rough idea of numbers of bikes left running, if you use another parts shop ask those people.

Dave - do you have the old Bike mags shown in the ClassicBikes Dossier?

I have a defining memory of an article in Bike where they had asked their readers to supply "anecdotes". My room-mate Ian (from Aintree and a Bluenose) wrote to them and had part of his letter published. I was sure that it was the bit about the hole in the front of the helmet filling up with a big grin. Maybe I'm wrong. He also wrote about the tittering birds etc. I'd love to see that old article again.

Ian had one of those stripey Honda leather jackets  ::) and appears in my gallery as part of the "College in 1978" tableau. The 400 is in blue with the Rickman half fairing.

Steve, sorry I don’t have what your looking for yet, I buy old mags off ebay, if  the article turns up, I’ll scan it and let you know……..Dam a bloody bluenose room-mate with a blue 400/4 (the fast colour) and a go fast jacket!  That must have been hell for you, my commiserations!   ;)

I got to wondering because a friend is selling a Guzzi V7 Sport.  I think he's asking WAAAAY too much, but a few people tell me it's worth it because of the rarity- about 3,000 made.  I suppose with !00K made, it will be a long time before a 400 goes for more than $5K.
