Hello from Orange County, Ca
« on: April 24, 2017, 11:02:02 PM »
Hey all,

Thanks for the add to the forum, looks like lots of great folks and info here.

I have a CB550F  that I got from a storage unit that hadn't run since 1982, broke it down, rebuilt the top end with the help of a buddy and am slowly getting it back together.  Just had frame painted and new rims powder coated and laced.  Once I get some rear shocks I can get the rolling chasis going and put the engine back in before putting the rest of it back together...

However, last weekend I found a screaming deal on a CB750F that looks great and with the exception of a few things runs great (second gear jumps, bogs at open throttle, suspension uneven...)  I'll be taking the engine out, flipping it over, and seeing what I can find with the shift forks, shift drum, dog ears, etc...

I tried to complete my profile but I don't think the site lets me yet..

Looking forward to learning and contributing to the forum.

cheers,

john

Hello and welcome from one new member to another.
I've been building a frankenstein CB550/650.
Got her up and running but still no test riding yet.
Once you get either bike finished, you should def take the stretch of PCH for a ride.
