From searching the various threads on this issue, I found disagreement as to which spacer supplied with the kit should be used on the bottom.  My measurement showed no spacer is needed, but I seem to be alone on that.  I would like to hear from others as to which spacer (if any) you have used, top and bottom.

Believe I used the thin one on the bottom, no spacer on top.

Good write up here....

For all the cb550 and cb750 bikes I've done, I used thin spacer as well

I hadn't seen that write-up before, Steve.  8) I measured the needed spacing under the lower cone to be .125", including the seal shim. cb, can you measure the thickness of both spacers, and the shim seal where it fits under the bearing cone? Make sure the lower race is fully seated against the ledge, and don't use the upper seal as well as the upper spacer.

Thank you to all three of you for your assistance.  I think I will go with the small spacer.  And thank you Stev-o for the link to the step-by-step instructions.  Scottly, I haven't removed the old races yet, so I cannot as of yet try your measurement suggestion.  Thanks again!
