Topic: Method to lower pegs on a 71' CB500?

I'm a bit tall for my CB500 and would like to lower the pegs but keep things looking pretty stock.  Generic lowering kits don't look like they would work with how the pegs are attached on this bike.

I'm wondering, has anyone found a way to lower these pegs?

Hmm, I disconnected the brackets but inverting puts them in hard interference with my 4 into 4 exhaust.  I guess that's a good indicator I can't easily lower them very much without a custom bracket to go around the exhaust pipes.
