Bill
« on: April 25, 2017, 06:51:15 PM »
Just so everyone knows Bill was attacked by a dog (three different times)on his front lawn and seriously injured one hand. His own dog (Babyface) fought the attacker off and allowed them both to finally get into the house. His hand is a mess and will require serious time to heal. Surely Bill didn't need this.

As Jim French mentioned the damn dog owner should get his ass kicked for turning his dog into this beast.

It don't wreck any plans Frank, Billy WILL be at Memphis for the next round.
I've been in touch with him all night and he is OK now after the hospital stitched him back together and Baby Face his dog that saved him from further damage is OK as well, just a chunk out of the end of his ear.
Had Bills dog not heard what was going on outside, it might have been a lot worse for Billy.
I've really got to go to bed, it's day light over here. Good night all.

Dang, I've been in the shop working most of the night. Decided to look at Facebook when I saw Sams post with that picture of Bill's hand. Sumbeach!!! And in his own yard too. Hoping that irresponsible dog owner is charged for not keeping his pet restrained properly and for training him to behave in that manner. That goodness for Baby-face not being locked up this time.

Wow!
Hope you heal well and no lasting damage Bill!
Going to have to say a prayer over that mauling you took.  Glad Babyface was able to turn the tide and allow you and Babyface to get inside.  Criminal, nothing but criminal...

You are going to be on some serious antibiotics for awhile and some effective pain meds I hope.

That must be left hand, no thumb. Throttle hand in good shape?
I'm  curious about his JMR billet block project. Let him heal quickly.

Jeezus! That does look bad. Whose freaking dog was it? I don't usually offer animal cruelty as a viable option for punishment, but that dog needs one to the back of the head.

I talked to Bill after coming home from getting both himself and Baby face checked out and stitched up.  Poor Baby face received his share of recoverable war wounds(ears, face, neck) defending himself and Bill(not but a few feet from his own front door).  Looks like Babyface(adorable Doberman) did an admirable job ultimately pinning down pit bull SEVERAL times, but he kept getting up and attacking repeatedly.

Bill is in good spirits considering.  He had never interacted with that dog before, apparently it belongs to someone very close to his house.  He knows who now, as the pitbull's ID collar was left at the scene.

It seems everything is under control at this point and Billy has taken the appropriate steps. Let's just hope both of them heal well.

George

Edit: Good timing Bill.  You posted while I was typing mine.  Speedy recovery my friend.

Thank's for all the kind words guys, I'm sure Bill will appreciate them.
Bill contacted me a while ago to let me know he was OK but hurting and still a little traumatized by what happened.
Thank god for Baby Face for coming to his aid. Baby face is a Doberman and as nice a dog you could wish to meet.
I've spent many hours throwing ball with him in Bills back yard, he has more stamina than most dogs and will chase the ball until he is completely knackered.
If this had happened in the UK, the owner would be in jail by now as it is not legal to own an American pit bull over here, to many children were being killed by them when they were allowed to get out and run free. It's not the dogs fault but the irresponsible owners that don't look after them properly.
Thank God for the Internet and Facebook that enables us to keep up to date with what goes on in the world when we can't be there for one another.
Hang in there brother Bill and Baby Face.

Another pitbull. Very sad. I have a very lovable and affectionate pitbull mix. She'd be more liable to make friends with an intruder let alone attack a bystander. It breaks my heart that these animals get a bad name because of #$%*head owners.

Agreed mate, it's the owner that wants locking up and that's what happens in the UK when this sort of thing happens.

I never like logging onto FB and seeing bad things. Especially regarding people I know but if Sam hadn't posted what happened, some of us might not have known. Just glad if wasn't worse Bill and the dog owner was found. Now they will have to suffer the consequences of being an irresponsible dog owner from a legal prospective while you, unfortunately, suffer physically from their ineptitude.

Please tend to that dog bite carefully. Easy for those puncture wounds to get infected and lead to other complications. Keep it clean and dress the hand properly. No greasy work sir!!! Cudos to our 4 legged friend for protecting his owner. I knew I liked that dog for some reason.

I dont know all the facts, but this does look to be an unlawful act.
Dog owners in the U.S. are responsible for their dog's actions.

Thanks for keeping us updated, Sam.
