Hello from Mid-Michigan
« on: April 26, 2017, 01:39:34 PM »
18+ year SOHC owner, long time forum lurker, new member, living in the suburbs of Flint, Mi.

Current Bikes:
75 CB750F0, candy sapphire blue, early build, 95% original, kerker 4-1, would like to find correct handlebars/controls and right side side cover someday.  Currently "runs" but has been in long term storage in my dad's garage due to a lack of budget and family taking most of my time.  Getting ready to bring it back into service as I obtained some budget funds through the sale of some of my unused offroad toys.

77 CB750F2, basket case with damaged 836K3 engine -- cafe' racer/brat/bobber project (still undecided)  bought as a basket case for a project bike so I wouldn't be tempted to cut up the F0...  lack of time and budget also back-burnered this project.  Also came with a die-cast K0 spare engine of unknown quality (but complete)

Former bike:
72 CB750, first 'big bike' /  sohc/4.  ratty stock, former DD, destroyed in winter garage fire many moons ago... RIP

Looking forward to getting some pics up as well as a project thread soon.

Hi Jim, I hope you get her going soon, we are enjoying a nice early season here in Michigan, yes?
My CB has never touched the back roads of Genesee County. I have been to the Holly bike meet a time or two, but usually it is westbound to Stockbridge, Mason, Waterloo, Jackson. What's your favorite rides?

Yeah, I've been jonesing for a bike ride...  I grew up in Lenawee County, so my recreational rides mostly consisted of US12 through the Irish Hills corridor, up to Hell, and the occasional jaunt to Ypsilanti to ride with my cousins.  I haven't explored Genesee County much yet either.

Pic of the '75 as promised, from a few years ago, before it went into storage...

Welcome Jim!  You could sell the diecast motor to fund some of your build, maybe get the F0 back on the road.  Stev-o just had his K3 836 blow the side of the case out, so he will be doing a 836 build if you want to follow along.  He normally does not spare expenses on his builds but, he is not gold plating things either...
That takes a different kind of owner I think...
Sandcast parts go for very large money sometimes but the early diecast can be desirable as well for those restoring the early 750s.
Selling it as a lump not running would not bring a lot of money, don't know if you would be better off tearing it down and selling it off in several chunks per se...

Some of it could be useful to you on one of your builds but not all.  The cylinders and cases being some of the early motor variants that are more distinctive....but I don't  know the 750 very well...
Welcome to sohc4 forums...
