APE Pat's Honda Build.
« on: April 29, 2017, 12:06:40 AM »

Welcome to Project CB.

Order desk Pat at APE is rebuilding the engine in his sohc Hondas 750 Supersport. We are doing a Wiseco 836 with Web Cam  and big valve ported head. One of the most popular combinations we do for this model.

WE will taken you along for this build.  This photo shows all of the components that we will putting in the cylinder head. They include;
APE bronze valve guides, designed for extreme heat dissipation, and big cam lift.

APE Stainless steel Valves. Real stainless with hard chrome stems. Originally developed for use in the RC Engineering  classic Top Fueler rebuilds.

APE Chrome silicone performance valve springs. Our CNC machined titanium valve spring retainers. Billet adjustable cam sprocket.

Web Cam Billet camshaft.

Pat's a nice guy, and really lucky to be able to work with you, Jay. And to have his motor built by APE! Congratulate him for me.

Thanks everyone!

Jay, Jeff, and our shop crew are really taking care of me.  I'm excited about the build.

The bottom end is fighting me.  Those side cover screws don't want to come out after 40 years.  I'm down to having to drill the heads off a couple of them at this point.   I'm anxious about putting a drill bit to them.   I know, man-up and do it.

Cheers everyone!   More to follow....

Hard to beat a JIS impact driver on those old screws. Usually come right out.  ;)
A Phillips tip will mutilate those JIS crosshead screws if they're really stuck.  >:(

Someone has to hold down the fort while Jay slacks off with you guys!

I'm really glad when he gets ahead enough to go see you all at the races.

Thanks for the suggestions on getting those pesky screws out.
