Hi Stev-o, I ride a stock K4 and will be listening more to my motor sounds now.  One of my front caliper bolts backed out while riding and sheared off about 10 spokes and i came to a sudden stop.  Luckily, I was just going about 40mph where there was less traffic.  Limped the bike back home and got everything fixed up.  Quite a story to tell about your K4 now.  Thanks for sharing your " Big bang theory."  ( The day this happened, I did a safety check before going out for a ride just like you)  God gave me a blessing that day.

Wow, thats quite a story.  Glad it had a good ending.

Wouldn't have happened with comstars. God made me choose an F. ;D

But seriously, glad you're both still here to tell your stories.

Wouldn't have happened with comstars. God made me without a sense of taste, that's why I chose an F, and a couple of Pommy oil distributors. I must have been a real arsehole in a previous life............ ;D

FTFYM......... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

So does it have domed higher compression aftermarket 836 pistons in there ? Stock cam ?  Was the top of the 'loose' one beat up pretty bad ? Inquiring minds want to know  :D

Yes, aftermarket Wiseco 65mm pistons, stock rods.  It got hot and beat up pretty bad...

Bill B says he has a set of pistons for me, waiting on more info from him.  I have a spare cylinder than I will have bored.

So after about 6 cocktails on Friday ["Sinko de Maya!"] I had a couple crazy ideas.  The H2 seat seems to fit on the K4 and looks pretty good!!!

I'd probably save the Kaw engine for a future Kaw project so as not to have to hack up the frame on the 750 and also be easier just to fix up another old Honda engine. Plus I am not too talented at fabbing stuff up like that. The 750's do run pretty good with some higher compression slugs in there. Hopefully Bill can fix you up as those Wiseco's are kinda pricey but good.  One or two little nuts can cause a lot of Hell and dollars  :-X  What year is the extra Kaw engine Steve, a black 1973 would be good for extra dollars.

Dont worry Eric, they were just drunk thoughts!   The spare Z1 motor is in the '75 year model range, same as my Z1.  The price was so reasonable I had to buy it...

As far as blowups go that is pretty good.. I got a Yoshi rod out of a 1060 that is in 20 pieces..
You would have to really  look at outside of the case to see where it hit..needs a little bit of welding.

H2 seats (and Z1 seats, for Frank) look really good on the bikes they were designed for, but not so much on our old 750's. I notice that Z1 engine is in an F2 chassis Steve, and that makes perfect sense, there are plenty of F2 chassis' out there, due to their fragile engines crapping out earlier than anticipated............. ;D

Quick update......head has been removed from cylinder with no damage and I've bought parts from Bill to rebuild a top end....

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,165623.0.html

Bad news is my spare motor is a K8, and I really want to use a K2-K6 on this K4.

[I know the K8 can be made to work, but dont want to do it with this bike. I will use that motor in the K6 roller I have]

Forum member Trey has a good bottom end that I can get, just need to hook up with him [he's about 2 hours away]
