750K PD carb accel pump issue - CupidTwin
« on: May 01, 2017, 02:04:18 PM »
Ive been helping out CupidTwin with his PDs and im stumped with this one.
Here's the issue.  Actuation of the throttle does NOT move the tab which depresses the accel pump diaphragm rod.
It can however be depressed by hand.
It does NOT move when the accel pump rod is in place or when removed.
The rack has never been disassembled.
Anyone have some PD's on the bench to see how that linkage and springs are to be config'd.
My old PD rack has been parted, so I dont have something on the bench to reference.
Ive asked CT to post a vid of this...

Thanks all.

Don't know if these are of any help.
They were taken before the carbs got disassembled  ;) and rebuilt so I know this is stock and correct. I know when I assembled them that the bit of drag from the new dust seal that came with the accelerator pump required a touch of silicone grease on it for the spring to have enough strength to move the acc. pump its full stroke.

Thanks for the pics.
I think he's getting it going now.  Might have just been 40years of debris freezing it up  ;D

Good to hear.
I did find the acc. pump and choke operation require a bit of care to get them to work correctly. Both are actuated by springs of a preset tension and if things weren't quite perfect neither would operate correctly.
