'79 XL100s rear winker question
« on: April 24, 2017, 07:24:47 pm »
New to motorcycles and acquired a very nice 1979 Honda XL100s last week. A previous owner removed the rear turn signals. There are two wires leading up to each side. Aftermarket assemblies show to be single wire lights. I am at a lose as to what goes where. I picked up a pair of single wire Honda lights, but they are not for my bike. I'm hoping to make them work. Originals are tough to find. Any help would be much appreciated on the wiring.

Find yourself a clymers manual. They are only around $30 and will have a lot of great info including a wiring diagram.

Thanks. I did pick up an original copy the other day and it has been very beneficial. I apologize for the dupe posting. This was my very first post and I did not realize it was moved into the "other bikes" forum. You guys have been great in answering all my questions. I really appreciate it.

Check out the XL board.

All XL/XR all the time. :)

The signal lights will have one wire if they are meant to ground to the frame.
