Thanks men, while Nic obviously isn't a fan, I'm glad he stopped by, I may use the repro K0 seat that he sent me as I'm a bit worried that the "Drug Specialties" seat, although looking very comfortable, may be a tad too large.
I had a terrible thought overnight that the patient lifter, rated at 200 Kg, might not be able to lift the bike off the bench if I loaded too many more bits on it, so I hooked it up, and it had no problems hoisting it up in the air.

I messed around a bit to put it up on the centre stand, but even with car stands under the frame it was a bit wobbly, so I eventually rested it back on the engine.

While I had it up in the air though, I cleaned and replaced the filter canister with a new filter and "Big Knob" filter bolt. The original, with the useless 12mm head had been "modified" with about half of the head removed, but with the new one with it's 1" head, it should last as long as the bike. (plus it looks cool, in a redneck way)

Looking around at what I could do next, I dragged out an oil tank that I've had sitting in the phosphoric acid bath for a couple of days. Phosphoric is great for cleaning out old oil tanks, and removing rust, and usually will take the paint off too, but Honda must have used some good paint on their oil tanks, so I had to use regualr stripper, which ripped it off. I forgot to take a pic, but needless to say, it went back in the phosphoric tank to avoid any surface rusting until I get a chance to paint it.
Then I thought about the gauges. I don't have any K2 gauges sadly, but I had a set of K1 gauges in a tub, so I cleaned them up a little, and installed the chrome covers I bought from Ted, (Ricky Racer) mainly to cover up the tired old bezels. I do have a new set of gauge faces and assembly rings etc, but the "jewels" haven't fallen into the gauge bodies like they do on a lot of K1 gauges, and I kind of like the patina, so I let them be.

I seem to have amassed several sets of mounting rings over the years, so I was confidant that I had a couple of good ones, but on closer inspection, most have been badly scraped, presumably as the bike slid down the road. As much as I like patina, I opted for a pair that were un-scraped.

So even though I spent 5 hours in freezing temps I didn't get a lot done, but it's slowly coming together, so I can't b1tch. Back to work at my real job tomorrow sadly, so probably not much more will happen until next weekend, but that's OK, it's coming along.
