G'Day Don, well I thought the box he sent me was posted from Florida, but I could've been dreaming? ;D

Anyway, Monday today, and as I couldn't make myself look sick enough, the wife ordered me to return to work, so I trudged off into the cold. Good thing about starting work at 0630 is I go home at 3pm, and was home before 4. When I got home I was pleasantly surprised to see that the other pair of handlebars I ordered had arrived.

The great thing about working at a snail-like pace is that not a great deal of work was required to swap out the "Beeza Bars" and install the "Pullbacks". I can't decide which pair I like most, and might have to wait until I ride the bike before I decide.

Oh, and I swapped the gauges around, even though I think "Crossed cables" would have looked cool........

Redneck Pullbacks 1 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

So, until tomorrow at least, no more to report. I put in another big order with Yamiya last night, it's not too hard to rack up a 500 dollar order, particularly if there's a bit of weight to get those shipping dollars heading north. Oh well, the bike won't be finished until those parts come in, so I guess I'll just have to persevere. I've been scrounging thru my tubs for a decent sidestand, but so far, I've only found two badly bent ones, so I might even have to put in yet another order to Yamiya, I hope I'm on their Christmas Card list........... ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Hmmmnnn, so Per and Steve like the Beeza bars, and Ron likes the Pullbacks, I'm so confused..... (in a manly, redneck way) I think I prefer the Beeza bars too, I do remember my hands sliding off the Pullbacks on my other bike at 100 MPH, so at this stage the Beeza bars are looking good, but we'll see once it's a running bike. ;D

It'll be fine Nic, like all rednecks, I've got massive biceps, especially my right one, for some reason? It must be from cranking my Model T...... ;D

I'm looking at your list of past and present bikes Larry, and I think I'll try to make a list by when I owned them, I must have owned one hell of a lot over the last 48 years that I've been riding! ;D

I've been riding 50 or more.  You've probably owned more than me from what I garner from your posts.  I've been thinking about a Harley XG750 to come full circle from my first bike, the Harley Hummer.  Or..................maybe an Injun Scout(politically incorrect phrase, isn't it?)

Ha ha, nothing wrong with either choice Larry Billy Bob, I'm not a fan of the Scout though, it looks too "Japanese attempt at Custom" to me, but the bloody XG750 is also made in India, and so the irony of an "Indian Harley" isn't lost on me, even if it was on the rocket scientists in Harley's PR department............

I hope, if you get one, it'll be made (or at least assembled) in America, by Americans, preferably by American Rednecks........ ;D

OK, so being a guy who likes to "Think outside the box", I had a wonderful idea for not only solving my "I don't have a fcuking half decent side stand", but also my "fcuk me sideways, if I lower the arse end of my beeootiful bike, I'll need a shorter sidestand" dilemma. Fcuk I'm smart!

But I'm ahead (some say) of my self, so let me explain. When I was playing with my VTR1000F "Naked", (before I got side-tracked with my RC51 acquisition) I bought a "Lowering kit", and an adjustable side stand. I haven't installed either, so I pulled out the stand when I got home from work today, and I reckon it might work on my 750:

Redneck Sidestand by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

It's a pretty trick piece, and while for some reason it reminds me of a Pirate's wooden leg, I like it. Very well thought out, and looks pretty sturdy, so I think I'll copy it and have one for each bike.

Redneck Sidestand 1 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

Of course, if that turns to mud, I've got a spare OEM VTR1000F sidestand (on my spare VTR1000F, every VTR1000F owner needs a spare VTR1000F, they have an annoying habit of self destruction if not modified with APE manual tensioners) that will probably fit. Always nice to have some options........... ;D

I hear that the Indian plant just "assembles" knock down bikes that are pretty much already assembled -- just attaching major components.  This avoids regional tariffs.

Terry one set of bars is not flat.....wide enough to fit your risers, so they may move.
If it was a rubber mount riser tree, it might clamp properly.
