I'm going to give it a shot.  I probably won't go through all of my threads to replace ALL of my photo links though.

Here is my sissy bar with my red backpack for visibility. I put my camera in there, some baby wipes, a locking cable for my helmet, ear plugs, an extra clip. If I don't bring the camera I have some room for small items. I can use the bungees to tie things to the front.

Photobucket is holding everyone hostage that uses them and posts files from them as a source unless they give them $69 to upgrade their account to allow that feature.

It will take $399 a year -

Thanks guys, thanks to Steve, I've uploaded a lot of recent pics to flickr, but I'm about to jump in my big red truck and drive up to my Redneck home town in the hills to share some "Roadkill pie and grits" with my mammy and other kin today, so I'll have to replace all my beautiful pics on this thread later.

My mate Fred rang to say he's found me a battery box and a swingarm, so I'll collect them tomorrow. I don't need the swinger now that I've got that nice one coming, but a "bird in the hand", and all that. More tomorrow. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yep that looks good Bobby, mine is just a sissybar, (no rack) but it's got the pad on it too. Once I clean off several years of dirt and fly poop, it should look half decent. ;D

Wow! When I first saw that guy I thought I was looking into a mirror! I can't play the vid as I'm surrounded by public servants with no collective sense of humour, so I'll have to wait until I get home, and I'll watch it while cleaning my guns.... ;D

Terry,
Was wondering if you might be distantly related to that little redneck cousin?  ::) ;D
I bet when you first watched that guy you LMFAO so hard you were 'blowing chunks'  :D

Ha ha, I wish my dad was still alive mate, he had the weakest stomach of any man I've ever known. I reckon if I showed him that vid he would have "blown chunks" in sympathy. I've got a much stronger constitution, borne from 38 years of eating Army grub....... ;D

Well I woke up this morning, (a great start for a blues song, although I'm more of a "Hayseed Dixie" fan) and it was fcuking freezing! We had the coldest overnight temps recorded in 30 years in my home town, according to the thermometer in my big red truck, it was -3 deg C. No, that's not peeling clearcoat, that's fcuking ice!

Frozen Territory 02 Jul 2017 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

Anyway, I drove the 200 miles home from my Ma's place, arrived home around midday, took a dump, made a cup of coffee then got stuck into the old widowmaker. I'd dropped into my mate Fred's place on the drive up to Ma's, and scored the swingarm, battery box and best of all, the "threaded both ends" footpeg rod, which Fred even had re-zinc plated. What a great bloke!

Fred's parts by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

Anyhoo, the moment had finally come to marry the engine to the frame. I tipped the engine over on it's side, and laid the frame over the engine, and I was surprised at how simple it went. I used the same method on the bike I built for Mike a few years ago, but from memory, it was much harder then, or maybe it was much easier this time, whatever, I got the engine in the frame without fcuking my back, squashing my fingers or chipping any paint, so I'm one happy Redneck!

Engine instal by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

While I had the engine on it's side, I decided to replace the alternator cover. This one has had a repair but otherwise it's fine, and certainly usable, but I had my heart set on a set of magnificent finned covers I've had gathering dust in my garage for awhile.

Engine instal 6 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

Like everything else on this engine, every screw came out without any problems, I'm sure you'll all be proud of me when I say the original gasket looked so good, I recycled it!

Engine instal 2 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

I did have one buggared screw on the finned cover, but I managed to drill the head off without any problems, and I had the finned cover on with no issues.

Engine instal 8 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

So that's about the long and the short of it, the engine is bolted into the frame, so all going well, I'll have the front and rear suspension fitted, then I'll have to start thinking about wheels and tyres. I'm getting excited! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Hi Terry-Bob!

I met a guy from Melbourne last week in Santorini Greece, he talked about snow. Is that really possible?
Greece however got the heat a few days ago 35-40*C and winds from Sahara made me feel to stand too close to an open oven. Riding a bike there will be hotter by the speed. We returned home to 20-22*C in time. I've missed my bike too ;) D)

Freezing car windows is common here. I have an electrical heater permanently installed in my car, connected each morning from October to April. It has an oil pan heater device too as many other at latitude 60 degrees north.

Hey thanks guys, when I get time I'll restore all those pics that photobucket deleted with the ones I've uploaded to Flickr, (thanks again Steve) but hopefully my swingarm will arrive before the weekend, and I'll have to search thru all my parts for some new bushings to install before it goes on.

I had a restless night last night, (not caused by the Bundaberg rum I enjoyed so much, I'm sure) but more from some mental gymnastics, designing in my head, a flexible baffle that I can push/pull into the 4 into 2 "turnout" exhaust I'll be installing. I really hate it when my brain won't switch off, so it'll be a long day in the office today.

Anyway, this coffee is going down a treat, and I might see if I can't rustle up some bacon and some beans for a nice musical breakfast! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Hell yeah Wilbur, I saw them live many years ago, their AC/DC stuff was fantastic, and I don't think even Bon Scott could drink as much as their lead singer! ;D
