Well, I woke up Sunday morning
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad,
So I had one more for dessert.

When you look at lyrics like that, it really can't be that hard to earn a living as a song writer, it'd be easier than building bikes! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

look at the source-Kristofferson.  How in the name of decent songwriters did he ever make a living?  But Cash did justice to the song

I've always loved that wonderful Barbara Streisand/Johnny Rotten duet, "You don't bring me flowers...... you Cnut". ;D

Now Now. Kris Kristofferson was a distinguished Rugby player and was featured in Sports Illustrated. He was a Rhodes Scholar and went to Oxford where he was a notable Rugby player. He joined the Army and was a Helicopter Pilot and also completed Ranger training. He rose to the rank of Captain. He was on his way to become a Professor at West Point when he quit the Army. He was doing some work for a Helicopter flying service. He landed his ship in Johnny Cash's back yard to give him the song and a demo. He was a redneck with some schoolin'.
Dedicated to Sgt. Howard Bruckner 1950 - 1969. KIA LONG KHANH.

Those palm leaf umbrellas must be imported from Africa since that island has Canary palms planted in gardens as usual around the Mediterranean sea.

Last week the wife and I were enjoying the cool breezes under a canopy of palms and bamboo enjoying some beverages. We sat and read in the diffused sunlight and the leaves rustled above us now and then,  a small spring gurgled down a stone wall.

This was not some tropical island, It was inside the Water Club Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City NJ. The AC system simulated cool breezes, the plants were real, the spring was a rock wall fountain. You gotta love this Country. I am so New York American I can't stand it.  ;D

Yeah, many of you guys are living in it, palm trees all year around! Maybe you miss huge spruce forests and Santa in the neighbourhood?
I have had enough of dark cold winters. I look forward to green winters and biking weather.

I missed my bike rather often during those 2 weeks. I was connected with this forum and this funny thread via my telephone, though.

This thread should be a bar, Terry-Bob's bar were we all could meet having some drinks, watch the ongoing project  and ventilate our ideas about it. Time for a working cheap teleportation technology. Until then, an old CB750 will due.

Hmmmnnnn, "Terry Bob's Redneck CB750 Bar and Grill" does have a certain ring to it Per, I might have to change the title! When I eventually visit the US I want to go to that Casino Bobby Lou, a balmy tropical island ambiance without the blowflies sounds like heaven on earth to a flyblown Aussie!

OK, Saturday morning here, dropped my new(in 2015) truck off for new tyres at 9am, pretty happy that I got 50,000 miles out of the first set, but what a pity we can't get that mileage out of bike tyres? Still, I'll probably never do 50,000 miles on a bike nowadays, so what do I care if they only last for 10,000 miles, tops? I've gotta go pick it up, then I can settle back to the build, pics to follow! ;D

Yeah Mate is one of two Hotels on the property, both are top notch. I get comped into the Borgota usually, this trip they booked us into the Water Club. https://www.theborgata.com/hotel/the-water-club

On the Casino the drink waitresses are all picked for their academic achievements:
