Well done Brian, my problem is that I have no sense of order. When I was in the Army I probably had the messiest desk in my unit. My OC walked in one day and said "Terry, a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind" and so I asked him what he thought about an empty desk, and for some reason he took offence and stormed off?

But anyway, now that I've achieved this amazing act of order, I think I'll revisit my CB750 parts storage, My garage is mostly uninhabitable due to the way I've shoved parts in wherever I could find a spot for them, so once the weather improves I think I'll drag all that stuff out, and sort it into groups, this could be the start of something big!

Ha ha, no points for me Pewe, I bought a sweet used Dyna III and Dyna 3 Ohm coils etc from Kyle (Chewbacca here) so it'll be throwing a spark brighter than an arc welder, for some free horsepower! Cheers, Terry Bob.

Thanks Bobby. Well I'm walking wounded today, ingrown toenails are a b1tch, but having them treated without any pain killers is a nightmare! Of course I didn't help by attempting some redneck surgery last night which only exacerbated the problem, I managed to punch a hole in my toe with the nail file thingie on my nail clippers producing a little blood and increasing the pain by a factor of 10. I gave up and went to see the podiatrist this morning, who did a great job considering the screaming, (he could have given me some anesthetic, the fcuking sadist!)  and once the "spurs" were cut out, it was all good again.

Something that's been bugging me is the "Turn out" pipes. I'm not averse to them, but most I've seen have a nice "Turn down", whereas mine have "Turn up" for some reason, and I didn't really like the look.

A new exhaust is out of the question, too many bills this month, so I decided to do some reneck mods to "pretty up" my pipes. My first thought was to cut the turnouts off, rotate them and call it done, so I chopped them off, and immediately decided that they looked better without them.

I also realised that there was a baffle in the pipe, which I might need to revisit, as I remember that last time I had them on a bike they were a bit too loud for my liking. I've made some mental notes about how I can improve the baffling, without any power loss, but I'll wait and see what it's like once it's up and running.

Now I found this chunk of aluminum all the way from North Korea the other day, there was a helluva bang just above my house and all this space junk fell onto my lawn, including some sweet pieces of alloy billet like this piece here. Some of it glows in the dark too, which is great, I might have to machine up some aluminum light bulbs!

Anyway, I thought it might be nice to make a sweet North Korean alloy end cap for each pipe, just to finish them off.

Thanks guys, I was immediately struck with how much better they looked with the alloy tips, I'm glad I was able to pretty them up the redneck way! I haven't been able to get much done over the last two weeks due to the constant rain we've been having here, as what was a fairly dry late Winter has morphed into a very wet early Spring, but today is supposed to be fine so I better get as much done as I can before the rain kicks in again, it's supposed to rain every day for the next week! I am so looking forward to warm sunny days again, cold weather sucks balls! Cheers, Terry Bob.

Thanks Frank, I think it does too. Well it turned out to be a great day, as usual I only managed to get about half as much done as I'd have liked, but that's OK, I'm happy with the progress.

So I had to make another pipe tip first, but having one already made it was easier as I didn't have to keep measuring and calculating, I just took the measurements off the one I made yesterday. I also bored them both out a bit more, then drilled and tapped them so I could secure them to the chrome pipes with a 6mm stainless screw each.

I found a new shifter rubber in a box, so cut the crusty 45 year old one off and with the help of some WD40, put it on.

I found enough bits to put an electrics box together, I had bought an el-cheapo rec/reg, but it was massive compared to the Rick's Electrics one I put on my K1 and only had 2 of the 3 wires that went to the regulator from the harness, so I put it back in the box. Hopefully it'll all work.

I bought a butane soldering iron when I bought the electrikery tool box last week, and thought I'd give it a try. I was stoked with the result, it works great, and I had no issues soldering a couple of wires.

The alu used for Terry Bob's exhaust ends was stamped n Korea... might been a part of a N Korean nuclear Scud missile, long range model. Like finding parts from Skylab that fell from the sky with pieces landing inland along the south coast of Western Australia.

Don't make the pipevtips too heavy  more tendency to call off. Even our thin HOOKER reverse cones would fly off sometimes.
Spent about 1/2 our looking for mine near Calgary, no luck. My current one is missing  I have a new one,  but think I should make a few alloy or copper ones.

Good upgrade for such pipes. I have seen TV show with people getting rich making pipes. Close to hillbilly style....

It's OK Frank, I won't blame you. I could have taken more aluminum out of each tip, but I "designed" (in my head) them so that if the existing baffles don't work (and if you remember, I said that last time I had those pipes on I thought it was a little too loud) I can cut the old baffles out and replace them with some 1.5 inch perforated tube and fiberglass or stainless steel packing, and the perforated tube will fit neatly into the recess I machined into the back of each tip.
