Well after 4 days of summer temps, we're back to winter for a few days, but that's OK, as long as the rain doesn't come in sideways, I have a few little jobs to still do before I head out on my maiden voyage.
Tonight I bolted up my 135 DB dual Redneck (Chinese) horns but didn't wire them up as I need to work on the other side of the bike to do so, and that can wait until it's on the ground. I did hook up an oil pressure gauge though, and I'm not proud to say I spent a whole $15 on it, but what the hell, safety is everything to this ol' boy, so probably worth the expense.
I went to start it, it cranked a couple of times, and "poof!" the power went out! WTF? The battery is new, it's one of those el-cheapo (of course!) orange AGM suckers, and appeared to have enough charge to crank the engine over pretty quickly, so I thought maybe I'd popped a fuse, but no, the 10 amp fuse was fine, so I eventually put my test light across the battery's terminals, and, nothing! Weird. Anyhoo, it's on the charger now, and hopefully will be fine tomorrow. Little steps still, but so close I can smell victory! (or maybe just my own BO........)
