Engine braking?
« on: May 10, 2017, 05:58:14 AM »
So I recently got into my '77 and did some work to the left side of the engine and am now noticing the appearance of some engine braking that I don't remember being there before. I had to rebuild my starter clutch and I'm wondering if I maybe over tightened the rotor and flywheel? Would that cause there to be extra friction or cause drag in the engine? If I shift to neutral, the engine turns fine and the bike seems to roll freely. Not sure what else it could be...or maybe if I'm crazy and it was there all along. Any insight appreciated!

you will notice some engine braking when you back off the throttle just like in your car.once you slow down to a certain speed(will vary with bike(my disclaimer))it will seem like there is no engine braking.that is normal(my opinion your results may vary)
don't buy it build it
