750K seat trim ??
« on: May 11, 2017, 06:50:18 AM »
I need some chrome seat trim (OEM style)
Many people here have used "U" auto door trim - but I can't get it to work. I've tried a couple of different kinds and none will open wide enough. Seems most of that style trim has a 1/8" ID. I need something more like 1/4".

Ideas???

The original, at least on my '78s, wasn't a U type piece of chrome, it was a chrome sheet thing that was held in place with little pegs. You might have better luck finding something that's meant to be applied to the surface of a vehicle and gluing it in place.

You just have to be persuasive . It doesn't just pop on, you have o spread it as you go. I added a touch of crazy glue and once it was on, it was stuck on. But it was difficult. Still only took about 20-30 minutes.

Oh, I was very persuasive. Even tried a heat gun.

The persuasion is in the spreading of the trim.

I'll have to admit, I was pretty persuasive of spreading the trim when I was single!
Marriage has a funny way of slowing that down.
