Rear shock recommendations
« on: May 13, 2017, 10:50:54 AM »
'70 CB750. When I resurrected the bike a few years back, I picked up some cheap shocks off of ebay. I'm pretty sure they're emgo. Before attempting the 3,000 mile round-trip to Delores with my arthritic back I need to smooth this thing out a bit. I can't afford the $500 designer shocks. Hagon has one for $219. Any thoughts?

Just put Hagons on my 350f. I wouldn't call them stiff but they aren't soft either. Nice shocks for more spirited handling. For the money, I'm very happy with them and wouldn't hesitate to put them on my next bike.

First choice: Koni. Second: Ikon.
As a matter of fact, Ikon took them over from Koni, but I still mention Koni for their outstanding service.

Ikon or Hagon are the only quality choices from my understanding. I have the Ikon shocks that are very close to original appearance and am very pleased with them.

What do you expect your bike to perform like? What duo you want to spend? The brand mentioned are entry level priced for quality shocks. Cheaper ones are crap but you can go way more expensive. Race Tech and Ohlins are world class but at least twice the price of others mentioned.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.
