750k3 clutch damage
« on: May 20, 2017, 07:28:39 PM »
Check out this clutch.  I've had my 750 on the road a few hundred miles and have been getting jerking upon takeoff at times.  It drags a lot when shifting too.  So today I took it apart and here's what I saw.  You can see one of the posts on the clutch center was damaged.  It almost looks like someone tried to repair it.  Oh There was also a missing washer under that special clutch nut.  A special washer as it hollowed out on one side.  The clutch center also had a lot of grooves worn in it.  I had a spare clutch laying around I cleaned up.  We'll see how it goes.

Find another good one on eBay. Find a complete with pressure plate just for sure.  An extra outer basket can be good too.

That washer has a special bend to it,its not a regular flat washer, see it not available anymore on my parts site. There is also another special notched washer behind that that goes on the splined shaft. I'm sure you already checked a parts fiche closely to make sure you have it all.

Yeah I had an extra basket from another engine I tore down.  It was in pretty good shape and I also made the mods to it that Hondaman mentions in his book.
