Nicky's accident sounds pretty bad, hit head on by a car while out training on his bicycle.

John will miss the TT but is on the long road to recovery and has thanked all for their good wishes.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Nicky.

regretfully, last news are that nicky's injuries seem way worse than john's and he is literally fighting for his life tonight.
amazing that he should face such fate on a bicycle just three days after flying at 180 mph in the superbike race in Imola.
nicest guy on the paddock, it breaks my heart.

Not cool. I've followed this guy since he hit the bigs in the AMA so this news hurts. He's a likeable character for sure.

Hang tight Nicky, we're in your corner.

Can't even describe how I feel. Met Nicky more than once, really good person and hell of a racer.  He signed the 2000 #33 RC51 I sold to Mike Rieck.  Damn, hope he recovers. Bill

Sadly it is being reported, on various sites, that Nicky has succumbed to the injuries he received in the accident.

Nicky was one of my favourite riders, always modest, truthful and never complained about the bikes he was riding (although often they did not match his talents)

Rest in Peace, Nicky

Geoff

Reminds me about F1 champion Michael Schumacher that raced a lot in very high speeds. Then a victim of a "simple" ski accident and very close to death.

guess most people will remember him for his motogp 2006 title, but just before leaving to europe he was beating top USA flat trackers while getting his AMA SBK title.
For me this picture is the culmination of bike control, beats ten knee on the ground shots anytime IMHO.
keep it pinned like that nicky

Feeling deep sorrow for Jackie and his family. He was such a bright light, gone too soon. RIP young gun.

That appropriately highlights what a class act he was. Can't believe he's gone.
