You really need to start including what bike youre working on. Would make it easier for people to help.

Anyways, I cant say for certain on the quality of the seals in the aftermarket kits. I used OEM Honda gaskets only and cleaned and kept the OEM brass. General consensus is to keep any brass that is in good shape. If you do need jets I reccommend jetsrus.com.

Always reuse the stock brass. Jets don't generally wear out and needles need a lot of miles on them before they show wear.

I will say that the 550F I bought last year turns out to have aftermarket jets in it. I don't know about the needles since I didn't disassemble the carbs, just pulled the rack off the bike so I could drop the float bowls for a quick inspection and clean and to replace the intake rubbers.

But even with pods and the aftermarket brass it runs really really well (especially now that I replaced 3 damaged float bowl gaskets and cleaned out the melted silicon sealer material some DPO used to try and hold the gaskets in place).

But when I rebuild carbs myself I always use the original jets and if my needles are damaged I order replacement OEM (I had to do this with my GoldWing).

I've always, always regretted replacing metal bits in the carbs. I've done it on I think 3 or 4 different sets of carbs, and I think I've finally learned my lesson.

I never replaced jets, but even needles and their collars will generally be fine, and as long as there's no major wear (or any leaks) metal tipped float valve needles will be fine too. Rubber tip ones do tend to fail by hardening though. I wish I never replaced metal tip float valves though, setting the level right is always such a pain, as the spring rate of the valve is never quite the same as the last.
