For those fans of The Kentucky Kid, spare your good thoughts and prayers for him and his family.

Good thoughts and vibes are going out that way...

This goes without saying folks, look out for bicyclists on the road and give them a decent amount of room if you can!

Wow. I was in the middle of teaching a class and got a text from a friend. Normally, I wouldn't look at a text in class but Heather's on the road so I did. I was stunned to say the least. Horrible.

RIP Nicky.

I was lucky enough to see him beat Rossi at Laguna, and the season was on the line until the last race, I think Pedarosa, his team mate crashed him in the next to the last race of the season. He came back to win the season. What great memories of a great rider. I have no doubt with the right team he would have been on top several more.

2006 was awesome.  My wife became a Nicky Hayden fan that season and she doesn't watch or follow motorcycle racing.  She even watched the Lagua Seca race with me.  Every time she sees me watching motorcycle racing on TV she still asks how is Nicky doing.

There was a really nice article in the newest Cycle News.

That is sad, I think I'll take my RC51 out for a ride in his honour. Cheers, Terry.
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

/\ Excellent article /\

Another legend in his own day gone.  RIP Nicky Hayden...
A true man whom others could look to as an example of what a professional and hero is and what one acts like.

A friend who was an avid cyclist lost a friend in Albuquerque who was active in the cycling world helping organize rides and travelled to them in nearby states.  She died cycling to work on non-primary routes which was a designated  cycling path in Albuquerque. A motorist ran the 4 way stop hitting her and killing her not long after the accident. Cara's friend had followed the traffic laws and the lady who hit her was not close to the intersection , close enough to recognize they were not going to stop.  Even though her speed was slow it was enough to kill her.

Life is fragile.
