Old Bell Magnum helmets Q? $$$ ???
« on: May 25, 2017, 11:53:59 AM »
What's the deal with the prices on Ebay on these helmets? $80 to $8,000 who is buying them and why?

Just because someone bids a price don't mean they'll pay it if there is one thing I learned from Fleecebay.

At one time the Japanese were going crazy over the old pattern style 1970's/80's metal flake helmets and old blue jeans also. Have not checked out the helmet market lately but after Don posting that I better get re-educated with the current market. Have a bunch of old metal flakes and others around, you know buy a bike and they throw in the helmets etc..  Also you are apt to run into a collectible helmet at a yard sale, flea market, junk store all kinds of places.  Pretty easy potential money  ;)

We have Bell full face helmets from the 80's and up but alas, I tossed the flaked and flamed Arthur Fulmers. It's not just that one ad either, there are several although there are some cheap ones also.

Something's rotten in Denmark. I find this transaction's legitimacy to be highly questionable.  There's no such value for that helmet with no provenance.

Same problem with these. Seems like "vintage" anything Bell is hot.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=vintage+bell+helmet+visor&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xvintage+bell+520+helmet+visor.TRS1&_nkw=vintage+bell+520+helmet+visor&_sacat=0

For that kind of money it's surprising there's no Chinese repops yet.

I had a 1/2 Bell "skull cap" that was probably that old that a hoodlum neighbor gave me in '67 or '68. ;D
