Just ran into this issue myself. I believe the rubber O ring goes in with the Air Screw Needle but I haven't been able to get a schematic for it and it doesn't seem to fit well when I put it in there. Also there were no O rings on the old set I took out. Curious..

as you take your carbs apart, compare old vs new.
you'll have one on the bowl drain screw, another on the air screw, another for the bowl.
depending on the kit, maybe a main jet oring, and a float valve seat oring....
Might also get several for the fuel tubes between the carbs.

So with the kits I bought for my 72', I had 4 small rubber O-rings and 4 small washers that I didn't use. I didn't replace the drain screws as the kits did not come with them, so maybe that's where they were supposed to go.

My air screw needles did not have them when I took the old out. When I tried to put them on the air screw needle, it seemed like it was off and didn't fit right.

Most Honda parts diagrams are really detailed and show all the small parts that go into a carb. They also identify parts that are part of a kit, if it is/was available from Honda. try to find a parts diagram for your bike.

Mike - I have a manual at home (Chilton's I believe?) that goes into pretty good detail, however it does leave out these specifics.

Are you aware of any links that have a good detailed description I can get online by any chance?

TIA
