The link that mb3000gt posted said that a heat gun did work. Had to build a little "oven" around it but it did work.

That little oven in the link for $20 powder coating oven is...sweeet and that rim looks good. If the hobbyist can get away with curing a la heat gun, then the cost and hassle of powder coating as signifinately reduced. Just what I needed to hear. Any reviews from the members who purchased the Harbour Freight gun.
