Scunny, im with you on the fairing, can’t wait. I was told 8 weeks when I placed the order.

It is a catch can, mounts under the tail. It’s actually a very good CR copy!

The main question I keep asking myself, do I paint the bike or not? My original intentions with this project was to showcase all of the aluminum with just a clear coat. Now I don’t know, it’s a really hard decision haha.

I was going to get mine painted, the friend who was going to do it came over to discuss what I wanted, had a few beers and then convinced me to leave it bare . Glad he did. No clear coat, just Mothers aluminum mag wheel polish, lasts ages. You can always get it painted later.

Your bike looks beautiful, makes me want to polish things lol. I was thinking more along the lines of matte with a clear.

It’s really starting to take shape. Just waiting on a few more pieces to finish the mock up. I’ll get it wired and fired, then pull it all back apart.

So I got word that a family frend had a super groovy old CB750. I figured I needed a parts bike, so I went out and picked it up. When I started talking with the owner I find out it’s an 836. He picked it up years ago and let it sit, then It wouldn’t start. So it sat some more.

Some decent parts on this thing. It has a GL1000 fork, Pamco ignition, front mount oil cooler that’s plumed into a billet filter assembly. I had it running ten minutes after I got it home lol.

So the plan is to scavenge it for the parts I want. Then clean it up and flip it!

Definitely growing on me.

Engine and paint are great. The rest of it however, my 3 year old could have assembled it better lol.

Nice find!
Thanks man, just one of those lucky days.

Is this going to be a street, race/track bike or both?  I was a little confused since you ordered the fairing with no headlight hole, were planning on AM22/23 track tires, and were thinking about which class to race it in, but you installed Motogadget switches on the left bar, presumably for lights, signals, horn.  Of course you can do both.

I think polished metal looks spectacular for a road or show bike, versus a track bike that may get scratches or scuffs from leathers, where the matte finish might be more appropriate.  It's a matter of taste in the end though.

What are your plans for the motor?

Also, what's the name of your shop?  I saw cars in the workspace, so I presume it's primarily automotive.
